The jute is hand-loomed at our partner co-operative in Tamil Nadu — bundled, soaked, and spun into a tight, structural weave that holds its shape without lining. Each panel rests for a week before cutting.
Full-grain Saddle leather forms the frame: rolled handles, top trim, base reinforcement. Every seam is waxed cotton thread, double-row on load-bearing edges, hand-finished at the edges in burnt umber.
Solid brass turn-locks and rivets from Moradabad. The detachable coin purse is the final touch — a smaller echo of the body, tethered to the inside handle anchor by a leather strap.
