The flagship of the Denim collection. Cognac full-grain leather, indigo selvedge denim, antique brass — and the flagship compass embossed on the flap. Built for the long carry.

Materials & sourcing

Full-grain buffalo hide, vegetable-tanned in Kanpur. 14oz indigo selvedge denim, shuttle-loom woven in Ahmedabad. Solid brass hardware in antique finish from Moradabad. Striped cotton lining from a co-operative in Tamil Nadu.

Care & repair

Wax twice a year with the PARS leather balm — the saddle finish deepens with each application. Wipe the indigo denim with a dry cloth; never machine wash. Avoid prolonged contact with rain; if caught, dry flat away from direct heat. Send the piece back to the atelier when it's tired — we re-stitch any seam for life.

Material 01 · The Craft

A single panel of full-grain hide.

The Dhruv's body is cut from one continuous panel of Saddle Tan buffalo, vegetable-tanned over six weeks in Kanpur. The denim is shuttle-loomed in Ahmedabad — heavyweight, indigo-dyed, contrast-stitched in cotton. Hardware is cast in solid brass and aged by hand in Moradabad.

Stitching is double-row in waxed thread along every load-bearing seam. The compass on the flap is hot-stamped after the hide is finished — the house mark for the flagship of the Denim collection.

Step 01 · Cut

From one hide.

Saddle Tan buffalo from Kanpur, stretched and inspected for a week before cutting. The Dhruv body is cut from one continuous panel — never spliced across load-bearing surfaces.

Step 02 · Stitch

Brass and waxed thread.

Every seam stitched in waxed cotton thread, double-row along load-bearing edges. Solid brass rivets reinforce the flap closure and the shoulder strap anchors.

Step 03 · Finish

Compass, hot-stamped.

Edges hand-painted in burnt umber. The compass emblem is the final touch — hot-stamped into the flap after the dye has cured. Inside seam signed with a serial that ties to the maker, the batch, and the hide.
